Ms. Cynthia R. Pharms
A Devoted Community Leader and Visionary
A native Houstonian and steadfast Christian, Cynthia R. Pharms has dedicated her life to service and leadership. Beginning her career as an entrepreneur at the age of twenty, she established Cynthia’s Private Daycare, which earned numerous accolades for excellence over fourteen years. Ms. Pharms also made significant contributions in legislative advocacy, notably spearheading the successful campaign for tougher Texas laws on pet owner responsibilities, recognized by the passage of House Bill No. 1355 in 2007.
Ms. Pharms has been honored numerous times for her community work, including receiving the "Outstanding Texan Award" by the Texas Legislative Black Caucus in 2007, and a proclamation declaring "Cynthia Pharms Day" in Houston by Mayor Annise Parker in 2013. Her education includes a bachelor’s degree in Administration of Justice and an Executive Master’s in Public Administration from Texas Southern University, further highlighting her commitment to public service.
Today, she continues to lead Pharms Helping Arms Foundation, Inc., focusing on supporting the elderly and youth, and spearheading community initiatives like annual back-to-school drives and senior support programs. Her work and leadership are guided by her favorite prayer for wisdom and serenity, as she remains a beacon of hope and change in her community.
